Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights brings together terrifying haunted houses, sinister scare zones, outrageous live entertainment and some of the park’s most exhilarating attractions.
Frankenstein’s Bride brings fear to fans with a drop of fright that’ll last the night. The scariest maze is The Curse of Pandora’s Box. From the beginning it is already too late to turn back, the box is open. All mazes at HHN are dark but there are portions of this maze that are pitch black.

Start with the recommended age limit
This is a pretty good place to start, most kids under the age of 13 are going to feel the event is too intense. That being said, don’t feel limited by this. There are other things you can be doing to know if your children are ready.
Guests are not allowed to touch the monsters, props, or scenes inside of our haunted house attractions. The monsters inside of our haunted house attractions do not touch you, but they do get very close.

HHN scare actors are allowed to chase you. They can jump out from places and say BOO. They can threaten to cut you into little itty bitty pieces with their chainless chain saws. But they are not allowed to touch you.
Face coverings are not required to be worn at Howl-O-Scream Orlando. … Unlike in particular areas of Halloween Horror Night haunted houses, there is no use of plexiglass in the Howl-O-Scream Orlando haunted houses. And, occasionally, scareactors may walk in front or behind you, but you will not be touched.
This year’s seven mazes are organized slightly differently than past years.
The Universal Studios dress code is fairly loose on their own website. To comply with the Universal Studios dress code it states not to dress as one of the emergency personnel or the Universal Team Members. … Clothing that is deemed inappropriate or offensive will not be allowed into the parks.
Some of the regular rides dare to operate during Halloween Horror Nights. If you need to escape from the mazes, get your thrills on Transformers 3-D, Revenge of the Mummy, Jurassic World or the Simpsons Ride.

All bags, backpacks and purses are subject to x-ray and/or additional inspection by Universal security without advance notice and should not be left unattended. Then again, is it ever? Halloween Horror Nights is an event designed to scare the living hell out of you. It does it’s job extremely well, as actors roam in dimly lit areas, brandishing fake weapons, and fake injuries to make themselves more grotesque and scary. The proper term for the actors at HHN is Scareactors.
You are welcome to participate in the horror theme or arrive in costume if you like, but do not wear anything that might prevent the Game Moderator from identifying you.

Located directly on the website, Universal Orlando does not recommend Halloween Horror Nights for children under the age of 13. However, from attending the event, that does not stop parents from talking younger children.
If you are taking a pause to wonder if your child can handle HHN, the answer is probably no. Instead of testing their fortitude at HHN consider going to a Horror convention or a local, small business haunted house first to gauge their reaction. Some kids can handle it, some cannot.

Is Halloween Horror Nights Worth It? Yes, particularly on the lower end of the price range. This is a cool event. The Nightmare Fuel Show was really cool, the houses are fun, and the overall transformation of the park, particularly the Scare Zones, is worth the price.
