Re: Which universal park first? It really doesn’t matter unless there is a specific ride you want to attempt at park open day 2. That might sway where you start. There are single rider lines for most attractions that can reduce wait times.
As there are more child-friendly lands and rides catered to a younger audience, Islands of Adventure it is better suited to children and families. Whereas Universal Studios Florida is better suited to older children, teens and adults as the rides are bigger and scarier with more mature themes.
The easiest way to tell the difference is that Universal Studios is based more on movies and TV shows, whereas Islands of Adventure is where the fantasy and thrill rides are.
It might be worth it if there is one park that you want to spend more time in than the other over two days, but each park is more than enough for 1 day and the train is by no means worth $40 per person.
Go to Universal Studios, you will have a half day of thrills and spills that you would have to spend 2 days at Epcot to achieve. Epcot is also an amazing experience but it does need more than 1 visit. Agreed if you are looking for rides and thrills…
